Hi Beauties! Welcome to My Beautiful Flaws. I originally created this blog so that women (and men) of all ages, colors, and sizes would have a place that we would all feel comfortable coming to for the latest information related to beauty, wellness, cosmetics, and more.
In a world where the definition of beauty is based on an 18-20 year old super-model from a magazine cover or a popular reality star, I felt it was important to provide a place for the average woman to feel at home, share, learn, and communicate with others…. and much more! The fact is that not a single woman is perfect, not even the models you see on those magazine covers. They all have flaws that are covered up and edited in some way; and every single person has insecurities. If they say otherwise, they’re lying.
Remember that beauty is much more than what you see on the outside. You can be the most beautiful person in the world on the outside, but if you have a horrible attitude, personality, are a cyber-bully to others, etc., the fact is that any external beauty means nothing.
Celebrate your beauty. Celebrate your flaws. Your flaws are what makes you beautiful and unique. Without them, you wouldn’t be you. That’s what this site is about. I’m not perfect I’m not a model. I’m not even considered “pretty” by traditional standards. And finally, I’m currently 42 years old, so you’ll get a perspective from someone who isn’t the 18 year old beauty queen, has typical issues related to anti-aging, and has many years of experience with skincare and makeup to share…. not just fads that will disappear within a year or 6 months.
Welcome to the site! Please Follow me on Instagram @mybeautifulflaws. I tend to post there more regularly, especially mini-reviews and photos that don’t always appear here. This site typically contains more extensive and in-depth information such as:
- Makeup/Cosmetics reviews – Very extensive typically after I have tried the products an extended period of time. I also post product photos and swatches of various makeup products.
- Skincare product – Same applies here. My general rule is to review a skincare product at leasf 4-6 weeks before reviewing it since skincare is never a magical miracle cure. Some exceptions may apply.
- Wellness-related information – Beauty starts on the inside. I’m not a medical professional, but I’ve been known to address popular wellness-related information (the last one was related to Breast Cancer Awareness Month).
- Much more! If you have suggestions for something you would like to see on the website, please comment and let me know! You can comment here on the blog, my Instagram page, or email me.
Welcome beauties! Thank you for your support!
DISCLAIMER: This blog is unsponsored. I am not paid by any company to promote any product reviewed on my blog or seen on other social media forums. I am not on any PR lists. Approximately 99% of the items I review on the blog or Instagram were purchased by myself.
On occasion, I may receive a product from Influenster to review. However, all opinions stated are my own and are not influenced because I was sent a product complimentary for testing purposes (which is the purpose of Influenster).
Last, but not least, I do have a few affiliate links scattered through my website. This means that if you purchase that product after clicking my link, I MAY make a very small commission on the sale. It typically averages 1-2% maximum (sometimes less). Not all links on my blog are affiliate links but are rather there for your convenience.
Why do I have some affiliate links? This blog and the related social media sites are a hobby for me, not a job that I make money at. It’s a very expensive hobby, as I typically spend several thousand dollars every year on various products I try and review. There are also significant expenses required to maintain a URL website, hosting services and hosting space, web design services, logo design services, photography expenses (my own professional camera, plus monthly costs for legal stock photography), and much more. Whenever you use an affiliate link, any commission made goes directly back into the website for help pay for required costs. Please don’t feel obligated in any way to use these links. However, if you choose to, I truly do appreciate your support and consideration. Every penny and dollar adds up and helps keep the blog going!
